David Y. Bailey CPA, CVA

Accounting is a family affair for David Bailey. Both his father and grandfather were CPAs, and David actually was a partner at Bailey Moore Glazer Schaefer & Proto, a firm originally founded by his grandfather in 1916, before becoming a founding partner of Bailey, Schaefer & Errato in 1992.

With such a deep personal understanding of the family trade, David pulls on nearly 48 years of experience to help family owned and closely held businesses, specifically when it comes to valuations and M&A transactions. The self-proclaimed fast multi-tasker’s work style and philosophy is to serve as a complete business partner to his clients, as he loves the relationship he develops and maintains with each client and the variety of work and challenges each brings.

Giving back to the community has been a pillar of his career, serving as treasurer of the Guilford Art Center and a member of the Legal and Tax Division of the New Haven Jewish Federation. He’s also a past treasurer of the Branford Education Foundation and Woodbridge Country Club and a past board member and director of the University of New Haven Center for Family Business Center.

He earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Quinnipiac College, where he gives back by serving on the school’s Business Advisory Board. A Stone Creek resident, David is married with one daughter and three grandchildren.
