Bailey Scarano Expands with 3 New Hires

At Bailey Scarano, we have set high standards for all those that work with us, and we are thrilled when we find excellent candidates. Recently, we added three smart, likeable and hardworking team members and we’d like to tell you a bit about them…

Deb Knudsen, CPA

Deb is our newest tax accountant who works on tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts and estates. “I truly enjoy what I do and am excited to join such a great group of professionals who truly care about their clients,” Deb said. She has a particular specialty in working with trusts and estates and those accumulating wealth. Deb is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and received her accounting degree from Western New England College. In her spare time, she enjoys sailing, biking and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Mike Valentino

Mike is a new staff accountant who will be assisting other team members on tax returns and planning, as well as financial statements, as he learns the ropes. “I am excited about taking on a variety of different tasks for the firm and contributing in any way I can,” Mike shared. While this is his first full-time job out of college, Mike gained excellent experience working as a volunteer income tax assistant during his time at Gateway Community College. In addition to Gateway, he also attended Southern Connecticut State University and Central Connecticut University and studies business administration with a concentration in accounting.

Justin Paolillo

Justin joined Bailey Scarano as an intern in January of 2020 and was hired full time in May as a staff accountant. In this role, he will be assisting with individual and small business tax return preparation as well as working on financial statements. “I truly enjoyed the opportunity to intern with the firm and am excited about moving into a full-time position where I can continue to learn and add value to the firm’s clients,” Justin said. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Connecticut State University – where he was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society – and is currently working toward his master’s degree in taxation at the University of New Haven.
